The Highlight

This course is designed for those who do not have the time to complete the Open Water Diver course and provides you with the training and experience needed to dive in an open water environment under the supervision of a dive professional. You will receive the SSI Scuba Diver certificate, which can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver certificate with additional training. This is a limited license course that allows you to dive all over the world after completing the training. Due to the lack of diving experience and knowledge, diving activities must be led and supervised by qualified diving professionals, diving activities are limited to a depth of 12 meters, but can be upgraded to SSI Open Water Diver after additional training.

The Experience

  • Completion of Section 1-3 modules and Open Water Diver 1~2 modules, 10~16 hours.

  • Complete the Diver Final Exam with a passing score of 80%.

  • Complete a waterborne assessment as outlined in the SSI Training Standards. This evaluation must be completed prior to participating in any open water training dives.

  • Complete a minimum of two (2) open water training dives using scuba equipment.

Day 1 08:30 Subject Course - Risk Management Awareness; Underwater World and Body Changes, Introduction to Scuba Equipment. 10:30 Academic Program - Effects of Breathing Gas on the Body 12:00 Lunch 13:30 Quiet water-snorkeling instruction, equipment assembly and operation, safety check before going into the water, mask drainage, ear pressure balance, regulator drainage, secondary head retrieval.... Underwater skills 15:30 Open Water - First open water dive and underwater skills evaluation.

Day 2 08:30 Open Water - Second Open Water Diving and Underwater Skills Assessment. 11:00 Diver final test. 12:00 Lunch will be served, certificates will be awarded and the course will end. If you have enough physical time, we can host you for a 3rd Open Water Dive.

Important Booking Information

  • Due to traffic, weather and other force majeure factors caused by the time delay, resulting in the cancellation of part of the tour, please take the initiative to contact customer service, we will be part of the refund for you. (Please refer to the official website of Atoll Refund Program)
  • If the sea and weather conditions are not suitable for diving, we will notify you in advance of the activity to postpone or cancel the trip.
  • Please do not drink alcoholic beverages, hangover, late night, insomnia, cold will affect the physical and mental condition of the dive, please keep enough sleep, with a happy mood to participate in the activities.
  • Please arrange your dive time, within 12 hours after a single dive, repeat dive within 18 hours, prohibited by air.
  • It is recommended that you should not participate if you have diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, severe asthma, pregnant women.
  • If you do not pass the course, you will be charged a supplemental fee of NT$1000/day/set of equipment and NT$800/cylinder/seat for cylinder and training.

Notes

7 days advance notice is required for any change in the scheduled date of class, and NTD$3,000 will be charged for any change within 7 days or unexplained absence from class, except for force majeure (natural disaster/accident). If the student is absent from the course due to ill health, he/she will be exempted from paying the extra fee if he/she presents the hospital registration receipt. For students who drop out of the course, or who are not feeling well and are medically certified to be unfit to continue diving activities, the course fees will be refunded in the following manner: NTD$5,000 deposit is used to purchase online teaching materials, no refund; after taking the course, NTD$6,000 refund; after taking the course of flat water/pool practice, NTD$4,000 refund; after taking the course of open water practice, NTD$2,000 refund. If a typhoon warning is issued for sea or land, or if traffic is disrupted due to an earthquake or flood, you may choose to reschedule the course, but you will not be able to proceed with the deposit of NTD$5,000 for the course you have already registered. The registration will be retained for six months after enrollment. If there is a problem with a student, the student will be required to take a make-up course. Please complete the course within six months. If you have not completed the course after the six-month period, please re-enroll and pay the fee.

You can come to the Dive Center by yourself to check in 30 minutes before the time of the event, or you can come to the center to check in through our shuttle service - the hotel pick-up area is only available in Hengchun area (north of Nanwan, south of Nansha), except for the area of the discretionary fuel subsidy.
